Borderlands is a bookstore just up the street from 826 Valencia, and a required stop if youre into Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Horror. That's all they sell, and the prooprietors know their wares. They're enthusiastic, knowledgable, and they have three hairless cats. THREE HAIRLESS CATS. The cats like to curl up next to you while you sample the wares. They also like to be petted. End of story.

Indian Rock is a sizable boulder overlooking Berkeley. It's got spots you can climb, many chalked up by serious rock climbers who wanted to test their skills against the trickier routes. Or you can go around to the back to find the stairs.
