Airport Operations and Maintenance Specialist Pay: $32,032.00 / year Location: Albany, Georgia Employment type: Full-Time Job Description Perform routine repair and maintenance tasks associated with airfield, airport buildings, taxiways, runways, and surrounding grounds. Perform landscaping maintenance tasks around taxiways, runway lights, terminal and safety office buildings, including mowing, raking, and fertilizing grass and shrubbery, and trimming/removing trees and shrubbery. Maintain airfield to Federal Aviation Administration specifications; prevent airfield erosion; operate an industrial tractor, front end loader, service truck, air communication equipment, and a variety of mechanics and grounds keeping tools. Perform routine repairs on maintenance building; check/unclog drainage system; paint terminal and maintenance buildings. Remove obstacles from fence areas; repair fences around airfield and terminal building as needed; assist in repairing airfield and terminal building gates. Replace signs around terminal building; install cement bumper stoppers at terminal building; replace light bulbs on taxiways and runways; replace light fixtures on airfield and inside terminal building. Perform general and preventive maintenance as needed to keep vehicles and equipment in operable condition, such as inspecting equipment, pumping fuel, checking fluid levels, replacing fluids, repairing equipment, washing/cleaning equipment, etc. Assist in the operation of crash fire trucks; assist in beacon tower. Report security problems to safety officers. Assist with HVAC and plumbing system maintenance. Conduct daily inspections of runways, taxiways, ramps and other aeronautical areas in accordance with Federal, State and Aviation operational standards. Maintain professional appearance while engaging in field work. Respond to trouble alarms and tenant complaints. May be required to be on call and work during holidays, nights, weekends. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED required; additionally, one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving building and grounds maintenance preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate endorsement(s).
