The coordinator is responsible for the setup, execution, and cleanup of events. The coordinator works closely with the clients during the event to ensure all needs are met. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service. The ideal candidate will be available to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities include: working closely with the front and back of house associates to ensure all events are executed to exceed expectations; assists in the day of coordination of events; ensures accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered, including recording events on the POS system; assists in the coordination of department members that may include, but is not limited to: bartenders, servers, set-up staff; assists with set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, event areas, and related activities in an accurate and timely manner for events on property; assist banquet staff throughout an event as needed (refilling drinks, delivering food, bussing tables, etc.) and following up with host at the conclusion of event; ensure satisfaction by communicating with the client throughout the event regarding any changes, substitutions or special requests and following up with the host at the end of event; provides administrative support to the Banquet Manager. This includes reviewing BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), vendor contracts, and other event related documents; keep tables, event rooms, and supply station(s) clean and organized; listen and respond to guest needs; reports directly to the Banquet Manager and completes other duties as assigned.
Skills and requirements: previous experience in event planning, execution, and working banquet/catering events required; high attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills; Microsoft Suite applications to include Word, Outlook and Excel. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
