The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during their dining experience while maximizing revenue, adhering to a strict cash control policy, and creating memorable experiences.

Physical requirements:
  • Ability to work required full-time shift.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.

  • Comply with the Northport Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe alcohol service.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Must be able to handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Must be able to work with computer software systems.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

Fundamental Requirements
  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the bar in accordance with the Northport Hotel company standards.
  • Attend and participate in daily pre-shift meetings, noting all VIPS and special requests & discuss service enhancements.
  • Will be TIPS trained and follow all responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Be knowledgeable about the menu and answer and explain guest questions or concerns.
  • Recommend, sell, and serve all spirits, wine, and beer according to local laws and Northport Service Standards.
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
  • Be able to use Silverware POS Software.
  • Effectively manage the daily inventory and follow requisition standards
  • Willing to assist all teammates to enhance the guest experience.
  • Obtain all necessary information when taking restaurant reservations and entering the information correctly in Open Table, our restaurant reservation system.
  • Effectively answer phones with standard greetings, effectively answer questions, and direct calls quickly and efficiently.
  • Have knowledge of emergency fire safety procedures and assist as needed.
  • Use of table and seat numbers during service at no times will we Auction Food at the table.
  • Use proper two-way radio (Relay) etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
  • Be able to perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shifts according to hotel standards.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
