Adecco is currently recruiting for a Chemical Operator for a chemical business located in Downtown Pittsburgh, PA. The role of the Chemical Operator is to operate various types of chemical processing equipment safely and efficiently and in compliance with prescribed operating procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exhibit competency in the operation of a variety of process equipment, including reaction systems, distillation systems, filters, extractors, autoclaves, reactors, pumps, and centrifuges in compliance with prescribed operating procedures.
Load and unload raw materials, intermediates, and finished products into and out of process equipment.
Display proven ability to set up and adjust indicating and controlling devices.
Monitor and record reactions, noting changes in chemical and physical properties and compositional changes of substances.
Adjust valves and controls to maintain system at specified temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels.
Maintain log of gauge readings, shift production, and equipment malfunctions.
Draw product samples and perform tests to ensure product meets specifications.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Successful completion of the Operator training program or prior equivalent experience is required.
Proficient mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity is essential.
Occasional lifting requirement of 65 lbs from the knees and waist.
Incumbent must have adequate eyesight.
The ability to wear a respirator while performing certain job functions is essential.
Must be able to work overtime and flexible hours when needed!
3rd Shift - 10pm to 6am Sunday through Thursday
Starting salary $25 to $29 per hour depending on experience!
