Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer - Database to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based database solutions that ensure high performance, scalability, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of OLTP and OLAP database technologies, high availability configurations, performance tuning, and experience supporting modern data platforms and data warehousing solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud databases including relational, NoSQL, and managed database services.
• Oversee database provisioning, storage configuration, replication, and connectivity.
• Ensure consistent database lifecycle management, patching, and maintenance.
• Monitor and tune database performance, query execution, indexing, caching, and resource usage.
• Implement optimization strategies for throughput, latency, and cost efficiency.
• Support scaling strategies such as read replicas, sharding, partitioning, and clustering.
• Ensure database security through encryption, IAM policies, network controls, and auditing configurations.
• Implement compliance controls for data privacy, retention, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce best practices.
• Monitor and manage automated backups, snapshots, and restore procedures.
• Test database recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Configure alerts, monitoring dashboards, and operational logs for proactive issue detection.
• Support transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) database systems based on business needs.
• Optimize workloads and architecture for both operational and analytical use cases.
• Apply best practices for schema design, data modeling, indexing, and warehousing.
• Implement HA configurations such as clustering, failover groups, multi-AZ deployments, and geo-replication.
• Contribute to development and testing of Disaster Recovery (DR) and BCDR processes.
• Ensure RPO/RTO targets are met through resilient architecture and recovery strategies.
• Support cloud-based data warehouses and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse).
• Work with data engineering teams to optimize ETL/ELT workflows, pipelines, and ingestion strategies.
• Participate in architecture reviews for data lakes, lakehouses, and analytics solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4-8 years of experience managing cloud or enterprise databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP database services (RDS, Aurora, CosmosDB, Cloud SQL, etc.).
• Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and OLTP/OLAP technologies.
• Experience with database optimization, HA/DR configurations, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with data warehouses and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery).
• Knowledge of backup/restore strategies, replication, encryption, and security best practices.
• Scripting skills (Python, Shell, PowerShell) are a plus.
• Relevant cloud or database certifications preferred.
