SperryCo, LLC is a heavy highway drilling contractor currently hiring for a Laborer for our field crew for a specific project starting mid-August in Cobleskill, NY (project duration 2 months). We have won multiple Excellence in Construction Awards for keynote projects; participating in interesting and challenging projects across upstate New York. Check out our website at . Health and Safety is Top Priority:

• Be at least 18 years old.


• OSHA 10 certification required: OSHA 30 preferred.


• Be able to work legally in the United States.


• Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.


• Be able to perform tasks involving coordination, motor skills and dexterity.


• Have reliable means of transportation to and from the job site.


• Pass a drug screening.


• Pass a physical examination.


• Pass an aptitude test, hands on and written.


• Physically capable of performing essential functions of working in heavy construction, without posing a threat to the health or safety of themselves or others, which may include:
  
  
  
  • Frequently lifting heavy objects without assistance (>100 lbs).
  
  
  • Working with hand and power tools.
  
  
  • Climbing up onto and down from heavy equipment.
  
  
  • Exposure to loud noise, hazardous machinery, hazardous voltages, and respiratory irritants.
  
  
  • Prolonged standing, climbing, walking, repeated squatting, stretching, and bending.
  
  
  • Working indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  
  
  • Working in confined areas where movement is greatly limited.
  
  
  • Lifting and moving heavy supplies and equipment.
  
  
  • Working at heights including ladders.
  
  
  • Has the balance to walk on uneven or muddy surfaces.
  
  

Requirements and Expectations of Employees:

• Be at your work location ready to work before the shift starts. Come prepared with your food, drink, clothing, PPE, and any other supplies needed for the day. Reliable and consistent attendance is required.


• Willing and able to do any task at hand to get the job done with a positive attitude. 


• Basic ability to fill out reports, send/receive emails. Ability to take online training courses.


• Ability to learn and retain the work processes. Has a positive attitude and the enthusiasm to continuously improve and support other members of the team.


• Ability to calmly and respectfully receive feedback related to job performance, whether positive or negative.


• Ability to stay focused on the job, alert and aware of what is going on and what other crew members are doing. Personal cell phone use during work hours is prohibited. Sharing photos or information about company projects on social media is prohibited.
