Sales Representative (Nashville, TN)
Yee-Haw Brewing Company is seeking a high-energy, motivated, team-oriented Sales Representative with a passion for craft beer and a strong interest in promoting and developing the Yee-Haw brand. The Sales Representative will play an integral role in building and strengthening our distribution footprint in Nashville, TN and will work closely with our distributor, sales & marketing team to execute business priorities. In this role, you are the primary point of contact for on-premise accounts including bars, hotels, and restaurants and you must build strong rapport and working relationships with managers, key decision makers and bar staff to meet distribution and volume goals while upholding our values and brand image. This role also serves as Brand Ambassador for “Tap Takeovers,” on-site sampling programs and key beer-related festivals and events.
This position encompasses the territory covered by Ajax Turner Distributing, with an initial focus on Nashville and the Greater Nashville area. The Sales Representative will spend approximately 85% of their time in the market . The balance of your time is administrative, including planning and documenting sales calls, reporting and analyzing sales data. This position has many moving parts and is best suited to a self-starter with a positive attitude and enthusiastic personality who is excited to be part of a growing team and who wants to enjoy the cool events and activities Yee-Haw hosts and participates in.
Founded in 2015, Yee-Haw Brewing Company began brewing craft beer in a historic railroad depot built in the late 1800’s in Johnson City, Tennessee. Yee-Haw Brewing Company quickly grew from a startup to one of the Southeast’s fastest growing craft breweries . Overall Responsibilities
Sales Focus
· Act as a primary point of contact for full account base within market territory.
· Establish and build strong professional working relationships with key decision makers.
· Solicit new business in on premise accounts with a focus on top 3 draft beer priorities.
· Strengthen existing on premise accounts and ensure they align to current draft beer priorities.
· Leverage our Nashville taproom location to showcase our beers and our brand with top established and prospective accounts.
· Follow up at accounts to ensure the Yee-Haw brand is well-represented, including correct tap handles and labels, POS, quality checks, etc.
Distributor Engagement:
· Develop / maintain a strong professional business partnership with Ajax Turner’s team, especially your assigned counterparts and the Craft Brands Manager.
· Establish clear and consistent communication with assigned counterparts at distributor to provide seamless sales execution and customer support.
· Participate in distributor sales rep “ride withs” at least quarterly.
· Act as key point of contact for Ajax Turner within assigned market territory.
· Assist with annual business planning and quarterly reviews as requested.
Portfolio Management:
· Monitor brand and package mix to align to company objectives and annual business plans.
· Protect our brand by ensuring that all products available for sale to consumer are within our aging policy.
· Assist with forecasting and inventory management with distributor and Yee-Haw operations team.
· Serve as a valuable education resource for Distributor sales personnel and retail accounts about Yee-Haw beers, priorities, and trends on to maximize sales and deliver the best consumer experience.
Reporting / Market Analysis / Projects:
· Understand and utilize VIP reporting system and Ajax Turner Distributing internal system to see when accounts are ordering beer, evaluate account and portfolio performance and identify opportunities.
· Utilize VIP to understand and evaluate distributor inventory and rates of sale to minimize and prevent any finished product loss due to over-aging and well as ensure no out-of-stocks.
Leverage and utilize KARMA (CRM tool) to plan and track sales calls and document weekly performance results and opportunities to achieve monthly goals.
· Support projects as defined by manager / business needs.
Our Ideal Candidate
· Must be at least 21 years of age.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred.
· 2-3 years of sales and marketing experience in the craft beer industry.
· Outstanding communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent time management, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of the craft beer industry and emerging trends. Cicerone or other beer certification preferred.
· Proficient computer skills including Excel and sales CRM tools.
· Great attitude and willingness to maintain flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed to support events, promotions, and servicing customers.
· Ability to drive anywhere within distributor footprint; occasional overnight travel.
