Technician Job Description:
General Description:
The service technician will possess a combination of specialized mechanical and electrical skills along with customer service skills to offer excellent service to hot tub and swim spa customers in need of repairs and/or maintenance. The person in this position should be able to demonstrate responsibility and accountability as the service tech will predominantly work independently to complete services in a timely manner while maintaining customer satisfaction.
This position works out of Desert Hot Tubs service center and requires daily travel in a company-provided vehicle. The service department operates on a Monday-Friday schedule. Typical hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., however, with the nature of this position, service technicians sometimes work later than 5 p.m.
Requirements of the job include:
1. Knowledge of spas and products we sell.
2. Neat and professional appearance and communication skills.
3. Organizational and planning skills.
4. A clean driving record and courteous driving demeanor.
5. A "safety-first" attitude.
Compensation:
Technicians receive a base hourly rate that is dependent on experience. They also occasionally are tipped by the customer.

Main Duties:
1. Provide top-notch customer service and treat all customers with respect
2. Test and balance water chemistry
3. Provide inspection, diagnose and repair of hot tub and swim spas
4. Suggest and/or sell needed replacements or upgrades to customers (chemicals, supplies, etc.)
5. Complete job paperwork in a timely manner (same day service provided)
6. Maintain inventory of service vehicle while keeping it clean and organized
7. Uphold proper condition of company provided tools
Additional Duties:
1. Assisting with delivery issues from time to time.
2. Refurbishing spas in the shop.
3. Installing equipment in spas in the shop.
4. Maintaining tools and equipment.
5. Installing replacement covers in the field and performing routine water care.
6. Moving spas.
7. Other work as may be required by the management at Desert Hot Tubs.
