HVAC-R Service Technician, Diesel Mechanic

Location: Redford Township, MI
Pay: $25.00 – $40.00/hour (up to $50.00/hour with Master Certification)
Hours: 40–45 hours/week

About the Role

HVAC-R Service Technician, Diesel Mechanic

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service transport refrigeration equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical and refrigeration schematics.
• Document diagnostics and repairs clearly.
• Work safely around exhaust fumes and hazardous materials.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and customers.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in trucking, heavy equipment, automotive, industrial, or transport refrigeration.
• Your own set of tools and rolling toolbox.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
• Ability or willingness to drive a Class 8 truck (Chauffeur license & DOT physical required).
• Willingness to be on-call: one weekend every 6 weeks, one dedicated night during the week, and one holiday.
• Ability to lift 65 lbs. waist-high.
• Proficiency with a laptop/tablet and Microsoft Windows.
• Able to pass an employment physical, drug screen, driving record check, and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA Section 608/609 certifications.

Physical Demands

• Lift 65 lbs. to waist height.
• Work around exhaust fumes and hazardous materials.
• Climb in and out of semi-trucks, work underneath vehicles, and use ladders to access equipment.

Compensation

• $24.00 – $40.00/hour.
• Up to $50.00/hour with Master Certification.
• Additional pay for on-call assignments.
