The School of Government and International Affairs prepares students to be engaged citizens and high-performing professionals with the skills and knowledge to address vital local, regional, national, and international challenges through relevant curricula with experiential learning, community involvement, and global engagement. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Political Science in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2026. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Political Science.
• Teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes.
• A strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship.
• Service to department, college, University, and profession.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

To teach undergraduate courses:

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

To teach graduate courses:

• A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  
  

• Candidates with a Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related field.
• Experience in teaching in-person, on-line or hybrid courses
• Evidence of teaching excellence in a wide variety of fields in political science
• Record of past teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level
• Ability to teach introductory courses in Political Science, American political institutions, or international law.
• Experience in teaching American government, comparative politics, or international relations.
