The Burlington operation in Raeford, NC has been proudly producing dress uniform fabric for the US Military for more than 50 years. Job Description:
Repairs and maintains electrical circuits and components on plant machinery and equipment, power circuits and lighting fixtures in accordance with instructions. Day and Night shifts available.

Pay: We offer competitive rates after assessing skills and experience.

Schedule: Typical schedule is M-F 7a-5p (Overtime is mandatory) and Saturdays as needed.

Physical Requirements:
-Standing up to 10 hours on concrete floor
-Walk anywhere on plant property, including roofs
-Climb and perform work on ladders and scaffolds
-May be required to lift as much as 50lbs, 5-10 times per shift. Maybe be required to push and pull gang boxes, welding machines, etc. weighing up to 300lbs, several times per shift
-Communicate openly over radio and telephone with co-workers and management on a daily basis
-Required to reach up to 36" to perform work
-Normal vision is required to distinguish wire colors, color-coded pips, etc. Must have 20/30 vision for new license and 20/40 for re-license.
-Bends to floor level throughout shift to perform some repairs in close or tight spaces
-Normal hand grasp and manual dexterity to operate tools. Must crawl under and on top of machinery as well as walk in between machines spaced 36" apart.
-Use of safety glasses, face shield, hearing protection, gloves, dust mask as required for conditions. Hearing protection is required in some departments.

Education/Experience Prerequisites:
- Mandatory : Must have prior electrical and mechanical experience.
-Must successfully complete the following self-study courses 109.1 Industrial Health & Safety, 151 Chemical Hazards, 107 Using Hand Tools, 102 Reading Schematics & Symbols, 204 Electrical and 103 Using Math in the Plant within six months of start date.
-Must Attain and maintain Fork Truck License.
- Preferred: High school graduate, or equivalent. Advanced Manufacturing Training. Experience as a Machine Technician/Overhauler

Other Requirements:
-Willing to work in adverse conditions (outdoors, cold, wet, hot, etc.)
-Willingness to work Weekends and holidays, after hours, on call-backs, and during week-long summer and Christmas shutdowns.
-Must have telephone to be reached in case of plant emergency.
-Driver's license and personal transportation desirable.


Machines, Tools & Equipment used: Hand tools, electrical tools, electrical measuring instruments, and general shop equipment. Tools include, electrical drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, plyers, knifes, hammer, saw, soldering iron, rule, dies, meggers, test light, volt meter, ohmmeter, ammeter, wire pullers, miscellaneous testing equipment, hydraulic conduit bender, and pipe threader.

M aterials used: Machine parts, lubricants, electrical wire, electrical hardware, and miscellaneous store items. Electrical machines and parts used include motors, relay, and control equipment, switches, circuits breakers, transformers, repair, and replacement parts.

Working Procedure:
  1. Participates in training program.
  2. Executes work orders as required.
  3. Accomplishes each assignment with quality workmanship.
  4. Use tools of the craft with skill.
  5. Keeps work area neat and clean.
  6. Locates source of trouble on simple electrical equipment or apparatus by tracing and testing circuits and inspection for mechanical failure.
  7. Works with crew on installing or repairing all types of electrical and electronic equipment such as motors, transformers, starters, switch boards, circuit breakers, power circuits, amplifiers, oscillators, multi-vibrators, etc.
  8. Replace fuses, light bulbs, cuts wire to length, disconnects wires, etc.
  9. Cuts, forms, runs, and shapes conduit.
  10. Performs preventative/predictive maintenance as directed.
  11. Dismantles, repairs, and rewires simple electrical apparatus, control boards, and switches.
  12. Performs all the tasks as required by a Maintenance Electrician I and below.
  13. Work on minor mechanical tasks as needed.
  14. Exercise judgement in selection of materials, tools, and method required to insure work progress meets departments standards.
  15. Follow all safety procedures.
