We are looking for a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a 12-week contract basis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves ensuring accurate claims processing and reimbursement in a collaborative healthcare setting. Responsibilities:
• Review patient accounts and billing data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and submit claims using UB04 and CMS1500 formats, adhering to payer-specific guidelines.
• Identify and resolve billing errors, resubmitting claims promptly to avoid payment delays.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, collaborating with payers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and government policies, including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Communicate with clinical and administrative staff to gather necessary information for accurate billing.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of all billing activities.
• Collaborate with team members to improve billing processes and efficiency.
• Utilize medical billing systems effectively to track claims and payments.
• Provide support for appeals and authorizations as needed.• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Biller in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in UB04 and CMS1500 billing formats.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical billing systems such as Epic.
• Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and billing compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable, appeals, and authorizations processes.
• Certification in medical billing is a plus but not required.
