A Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for the Multilingual Educator is community focused and will help support the following SR1 programs through community outreach and engagement:
SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy (SR1 CPSA)

SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone (Community Oriented Opportunities for Learning)
A national model program providing out-of-school support, including after-school, weekend, and summer learning opportunities for K–12 students in central Mississippi.
SR1 Agriculture and Food Sciences
Focused on promoting healthy lifestyles and food security through agricultural education, workforce development, culinary programming, and growing fresh produce year-round.
SR1 Health
Preventive health and wellness programs, drug-free community initiatives, health education, and health-related workforce training.
SR1 Workforce Development and Economic Empowerment
Providing career readiness, digital literacy, financial literacy, and job training to youth and adults.
SR1 Early Childhood and Family Services
Supporting early learning, parenting education, family engagement, and PreK initiatives.
SR1 International and Multicultural Services
Offering multilingual support, cultural integration, and academic guidance to multicultural families.
What You Will Do
As a Multilingual Educator, you will:
• Support Spanish speaking students and families in school settings and community settings
• Help families and community members understand and access SR1 programs
• Translate important information for families and community members
• Foster a welcoming environment for all
• Help students and families grow in academics and social skills
• Guide families and community members through enrollment and participation
What You Need
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in college (all levels may apply)
Experience & Skills:
• Bilingual: English & Spanish (required)
• Teaching or tutoring experience preferred
• Excellent communication (spoken and written)
• Respect for all cultures and backgrounds
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Available on weekends
• Willing to pass a background check
• Able to teach in-person or virtually
Your Responsibilities
You will:
1. Help K–12 students before, during, and after school, and in the summer
2. Assist with recruiting and supporting the Spanish speaking community
3. Provide high quality services and translation for the community
4. Promote positive behavior and parent engagement
5. Help with organizational services, school meetings and community events
6. Support families and community members with school forms and communication
7. Collaborate with other educators and be able to work independently to complete tasks
8. Speak clearly and be patient when working with community members

You will work during school hours or in out-of-school time to help support Spanish speaking students and families in school settings and community settings.
Job Details
• Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Volunteer, Contract
• Pay: $36,000 - $50,000
• Location: Central Mississippi (Must commute reliably or plan to move before starting)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday + some weekends
• Experience: Teaching/Tutoring – 1 year preferred
