LOCATION: Sportime QUOGUE, East Quogue, NY

JOB SUMMARY:
Provide a safe, orderly environment in which children’s needs (physical, emotional, social, etc) are met effectively. Cheerfully meet and greet parents/guardians, and children, when they come into the Nursery Room. Check to see that parents/guardians fill in the Sign-In sheet. Ensure the children have a fun experience during their stay in the Nursery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attendance is an essential job function
• Ensure children are safe; avoid physical contact between children.
• Maintain total control of the room at all times, absolutely no food is allowed in the area
• Keep the room clean and neat (before and after children arrive/leave)
• Use disinfectant wipes to clean toys. Discard broken toys; request replacements as needed
• Request drawing supplies as needed
• Assist in other areas of the club when there are no children in your care
• Abide by SPORTIME policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Minimum 2 years’ experience babysitting
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with toddlers and young children.
• Be enthusiastic. Actively look for ways to improve the child’s experience
• Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do
• Ability to lift up to a 30lb child
• Ability to communicate well with children and adults
• Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so that others will understand
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Environment can be loud at times

HOURLY RATE: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour 

SCHEDULE: Part-time, Monday - Saturday 8:00am-11:30am
