Job Description

A maternity leave contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to support K-12 students in a South Burlington, VT school district. This role provides essential OT services across a large and diverse caseload, primarily focusing on three schools within the district, including two located on the same campus. This temporary position is ideal for clinicians looking to make a meaningful impact over the course of a school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 76 students spanning kindergarten through 12th grade, addressing various needs including mild, moderate, and severe challenges
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans for students with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Delay, and Other Health Impairments with a focus on ADHD
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and optimize participation in educational activities
• Conduct new evaluations as assigned to identify student needs and appropriate interventions
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports according to state and district guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license and credentials
• Experience working with school-aged children in educational settings, preferably K-12
• Ability to manage a large caseload with varying levels of student ability and needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Work Schedule and Duration:

• Maternity leave contract from mid-October through January
• Full-time hours ranging from 37.5 to 40 hours per week, depending on caseload demands
