Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to join the Surgical Services team!

Description:

The selected candidate will assist the perioperative care team with, but not limited to, turnover of surgical suites, cleaning between procedures and doing terminal clean to OR suites at the end of the day, cleaning equipment, ordering and putting away of surgical supplies, transportation of patients, specimens and blood products to, from, and within the surgical unit.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with the turnover in the Operating Room
• Be available to assist staff
• Terminal cleaning of Surgical Suites
• Maintain a clean environment throughout the department
• Transport patients, supplies and equipment as needed
• Exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide tanks
• Transport specimens
• Maintains patient's confidentiality
• Ability to prioritize work
• Participates in unit meetings and completes all mandatory in-services and competencies
• Maintains a cooperative manner towards patients, families/care givers, and care team

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days from hire date
• Must successfully complete the orinetation program in the Surgical Services department

Hours:

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 3:00pm. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
