Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes. This position is integral to enhancing our production efficiency and maintaining our high-quality standards. By collaborating with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality and Engineering, you will lead initiatives to streamline operations and implement process improvements.

  • Develops, designs, and plans process improvements to Rolling Mill department to maximize cost reduction and implement continuous improvement projects

  • Reviews current KPIs/metrics and looks for additional areas to monitor to contribute to the overall efficiency and performance of the Rolling Mill

  • Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identifies equipment and process flow bottlenecks

  • Evaluates and monitors production trends and develops new processes and/or revise existing processes to increase production and quality trends

  • Coordinates multiple resources to lead/influence various departments and resources without solid line reporting authority to accomplish shared objectives

  • Collaborates with PPC, Engineering, Process Automation, Slab Processing, Shipping and Tech Services when required to implement process changes

  • Works closely with the Operations Leadership Team and Mill Operators to implement process change

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or related field strongly preferred

  • Five years working in Industrial and Production environment required

  • Formal Continuous Improvement Certification or Training (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) required

  • Understands rolling theory and the use of related equipment during the rolling process

  • Understands how Automation is used during the Rolling and Finishing process

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate to multiple levels in organization and identify and elevate issues as needed

  • Advanced understanding of MS Office (Excel, Word), and other computer programs (Citrix, VPN)

  • Collaboration - Process Automation, Engineering, Technical Services, PPC, Slab Processing, Operations Leadership, Operators
