Job Overview

American Sanican (a Total Sanitation Company) is seeking a motivated, results-driven  Sales Representative to join our team in  Portland, Oregon . In this field-based role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, acquiring new customers, and representing our brand with professionalism and energy. You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure exceptional service while expanding our presence in the market. If you consider yourself a sales hunter who thrives on building relationships and closing deals, especially in site services like sewage, solid waste, and portable sanitation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Efforts : Drive volume growth, pricing strategies, and new customer acquisition in your assigned territory.
  • Market Expansion : Increase market share through proactive outreach and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Client Engagement : Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects and clients to understand needs, present services, and close sales.
  • Quoting & Proposals : Partner with Inside Sales to support quoting processes and deliver tailored service proposals.
  • Brand Representation : Act as a brand ambassador for American SaniCan in the field.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure top-quality service delivery.
  • CRM Management : Accurately track client interactions, sales opportunities, and updates in the CRM system.
  • Market Intelligence : Identify and communicate service issues, market trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Reporting : Provide regular updates to leadership to support strategic sales decisions.

Qualifications

  • Experience : 3+ years of outside sales and account management experience, preferably in construction, waste management, sanitation, or B2B services.
  • License : Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Sales Skills : Proven track record in prospecting, follow-ups, and overcoming objections.
  • Communication : Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Tech Savvy : Experience with quoting tools, CRM systems, and mobile sales platforms.
  • Self-Motivation : Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in the field.
  • Field Comfort : Comfortable interacting with a diverse range of clients and working primarily in a field-based role (about 90% of the time).
  • Market Awareness : Strong understanding of local market dynamics and ability to identify new business opportunities.
