Job Description

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the current school year at a K-12 institution located in Lockport, IL. This contract position is designed to support students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive educational setting.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific goals and abilities
• Provide specialized instruction and interventions to students with varying disabilities across K-12 grade levels
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an accommodating learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to meet educational objectives
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Valid special education teaching certification appropriate for K-12 students
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
