\n\nMed/Surg RN Job Details – Peoria, IL\n

• Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)\n
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse\n
• Unit: Adult Medical Specialty – Med/Surg (Medical Surgical Nursing)\n
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 3 shifts/week\n
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n
• Contract Duration: 18 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)\n
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n
• Holiday Requirement: As scheduled\n
• Charting System: EPIC EMR\n
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts (12 hours non-billable orientation)\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990–$2,130 per week\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process)\n
• BLS certification (AHA required)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience\n
• Proficiency with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes\n
• EPIC charting experience preferred\n
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center is a plus\n
• Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus)\n
• Professional appearance (any color scrubs; no visible tattoos or piercings except ears)\n

\n\nMed/Surg RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute medical conditions such as cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, syncope, anemia, diabetes, respiratory failure, liver/kidney failure, and behavioral health/addictions\n
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 (day shift)\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge RNs and patient care techs\n
• Manage and utilize central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes\n
• Administer medications and monitor set-rate drips (Heparin, Lasix)\n
• Document patient care in EPIC EMR\n
• Float to other acute care general medicine units as needed (nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, oncology)\n
• Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling as part of a flexible nursing team\n
