Are you passionate about renewable energy and looking for an opportunity to play a part in fighting climate change? We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Wind Turbine Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a significant travel requirement.
The Wind Turbine Technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine equipment within our portfolio. This role will require a strong understanding of wind turbine systems and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will be expected to travel up to 50% of the time, often to remote locations, and collaborate with our offshore team to ensure optimal performance of our wind energy assets.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of wind turbines to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on wind turbine systems.
- Collaborate with the offshore team to troubleshoot and resolve turbine performance issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures, including adherence to OSHA 10 standards.
- Provide training and support to other team members as needed.
- Document and report on work performed, parts used, and time spent for each task.
- Respond to emergency situations as required, which may include working outside of normal working hours or in adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in wind turbine repair or a related field.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training or certification in wind energy or a related field is an asset.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, often to remote locations.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
