Description

Job Purpose: This position provides mental health therapy, clinical interventions, and behavioral management support to a caseload of children/adolescents (ages 0-17) and their families. Responsibilities include maintaining appropriate documentation to include diagnosis, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries as well as participate in required meetings such as clinical supervision, case consultation, school consultations (as necessary), and department and agency meetings.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide effective psychotherapeutic clinical interventions tochildren/adolescentswith mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders, or a combination of those conditions utilizing best practices and evidence-based psychotherapeutic research.

  • Conducts initial and ongoing assessments, including risk assessments; develops and reviews treatment plans; provides direct services and referrals based on the client's individualized needs; and completes all documentation and service requirements on time.

  • Collaborates effectively with internal and external referents and care systems to facilitate referrals and maximize client outcomes.

  • Maintains a 75% or better productivity for billable services monthly.

  • Writes effective treatment plans, monitors progress, and documents Outcomes. Continually assess client risk and act accordingly.

  • Participates in supervision, clinical collaboration, and clinical consultation.

  • Maintains a thorough case file or client record by documenting timely services.

  • Continually seeks to improve the knowledge base and skill development by attending in-service training and conferences to maximize client outcomes.

  • Completes necessary paperwork for insurance billing.

  • Complies with Federal law, WI law c.51. and administrative regulations, community mental health (DHS 35), clients rights (DHS 94) and confidentiality (DHS 92) regulations, and agency policy and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure, and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)

Minimum Required Education: Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric mental health nursing, or a degree in a specified related field. Educational background must meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35.

Required License - Certification - Registration - Issued by Governing Body:

Meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35 Wisconsin State license as an LCSW, LPC, or LPC-IT must be obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.

Travel outside of office: Minimal travel required

Required Valid Driver's License: Valid Wisconsin driver's license.

Required Auto Insurance: Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy.

  • Broad knowledge of psychopathology, normal development, and psychotherapeutic interventions.

  • Awareness of personal, cultural, educational, and environmental aspects of community living for individuals with mental illness, developmental disability, substance abuse, medical ailments, and the co-occurring possibilities of those conditions.

  • Knowledge of community mental health systems, community resources, WI law and administrative regulations, civil commitment, guardianship, and other applicable WI statutes.

  • Knowledge of using work-related tools such as computers, cell phones, texting, computers, photocopiers, Microsoft Office, and Teams.

  • Maintains confidential information and discretion.

  • Ability to work individually and in a team setting.

  • Organizes and uses time efficiently and effectively.

  • Takes responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.

  • Adheres to all workplace and safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices.

Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:

Physical Requirements : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Visual Acuity : The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.

Working Conditions : None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
