Government Sector Research And Development Team Consultant

Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey-before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.

We are seeking a highly experienced Government Sector Research And Development (R&D) Team Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of working with government research facilities, with a strong background in R&D, focused on fossil fuels. This role requires a strategic thinker with an eye for innovation/R&D, with the ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and provide insightful briefings to senior leaders on key energy and fossil fuels issues.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, critical minerals, or other relevant engineering or science field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience working with on matters related to the energy ecosystem including issues relevant to the fossil fuels and/or critical minerals industry.
• Experience with research and development programs.
• Familiar working with large, complex, datasets, conducting research, and performing high-level analysis.
• Experience working with government research facilities.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
