About Us:

Koa Capital Partners LLC (“Koa Capital”) is seeking an investment analyst to join our team and we embark on our next round of capital raising and continue generating significant returns for our investors. The potential candidate would ideally be based in Honolulu but may work remotely, West Coast preferred, but will be required to work Hawaiian Standard Time hours.

Koa Capital, headquartered in Honolulu, HI, was established in 2014 and is led by Founding Partners Chris Eldridge and Dustin Sellers, both celebrated local entrepreneurs with strong growth creation track records; focused on Hawaii-centric, medium enterprise opportunities in the B2B and B2C space. 

Reporting to the CFO and Partner, the investment analyst will be required to:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough financial modeling and analysis to evaluate the financial health and performance of potential investment targets.

2. Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including analyzing historical financial statements, assessing industry trends, and evaluating the competitive landscape.

3. Develop complex financial models and analyze legal documents.

4. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive dynamics to identify potential investment opportunities and risks.

5. Actively participate in deal sourcing activities to identify and evaluate potential investment targets, including networking with industry professionals, attending conferences, and monitoring relevant news and market updates.

6. Prepare detailed investment memoranda and presentations for internal stakeholders, summarizing the investment thesis, financial analysis, and potential risks and opportunities.

7. Assist in the valuation of target companies using various methodologies, such as comparable company analysis (CCA), precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis.

8. Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to senior team members and the investment committee, both in written reports and oral presentations.

9. Monitor and provide ongoing analysis of portfolio companies, including financial performance, industry trends, and potential exit strategies.

10. Cultivate relationships with industry professionals, investment bankers, and other key stakeholders to enhance deal flow and stay informed about market developments.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or MBA are preferred.
• Proven working experience as an investment analyst.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Understanding of relevant industries and sectors, with the ability to analyze market trends and competitive dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey investment recommendations and insights.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to the decision-making process.
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially in financial analysis and due diligence processes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Adherence to high ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
• Familiarity with relevant financial analysis tools and software, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
