The General Laborer performs general manual labor tasks; responsible for and will be assigned a wide variety of duties that will vary depending upon production needs and the department they are assigned to (Press Packaging, Sanitation and Mill).

Schedule: 12-hour shifts following a 2-2-3 rotation (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days; then the opposite the next week).

Hours : Training Hours 6:00AM to 6:30PM (Days), When Fully Trained 6:00PM to 6:30AM (Nights). 

Work Location: 1000 Italian Way, Excelsior Springs, Mo 64024

Wage, based on experience and other qualifications: $23.50 per hour Day Shift, plus $1.50 Shift Differential Night Shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adheres to company safety and sanitation policies and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in all areas of responsibility.

• Follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

• Must be able to stand for several hours at a time.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

• Must maintain good housekeeping principles and an organized and neat work area.

• Works effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• No experience required; all new hires will be trained.

• High School Diploma, GED, equivalent, preferred

• Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Basic math and measuring ability

• Demonstrates good people skills

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk up to 90 percent of the shift; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The position requires climbing on a frequent basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include near and far visual acuity with some degree of color perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
