OVERVIEW: The Social Media & Engagement Specialist will play a pivotal role in activating and managing our organization's online presence and driving engagement with our audience. Your primary responsibility will be to curate compelling content and ensure its consistent delivery across various digital platforms, while maintaining the organization's values and a professional tone in interactions. Additionally, you will conduct outreach efforts to boost Love146's visibility, securing opportunities for guest appearances, webinars, and speaking engagements. This person is outgoing, self-starting, social media savvy, and diligent in contextualizing content for every relevant platform to increase visibility.

STATUS: Full-Time Employee (40 hours weekly)
SALARY RANGE : $25.62 - $26.24 hourly
LOCATION: Remote
TRAVEL: Annually, 2-3 domestic trips possible for promotional events and/or team building.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular Updates and Social Media Management (50%)
- Manage Love146's social media presence by ensuring consistent and engaging posts across various platforms.
- Using discernment, respond as needed to comments, direct messages, and interactions on social media platforms while representing Love146’s values and maintaining a professional tone, collaborating with teammates as inquiries become sensitive. Keep track of common responses for efficiency & continuity.
- Document relevant interactions and insights in Salesforce for development team’s relationship management.
- Ideate and draft content as needed, collaborating with other team members in getting needed information, input, and updates.
- Repurpose existing/evergreen content to ensure its maximum function and visibility.
- Optimize distribution of all content, and advise and drive forward new content or campaigns. When creating posts, consider keywords/SEO, and spot opportunities to sync with trending topics and news stories.
- Establish Love146’s presence on TikTok and begin producing more TikToks/Reels, reworking evergreen content and initiating new content. Generate scripts for Reels/Posts and seek approval.
- As common questions and trending topics emerge in the field or in conversations, suggest and draft content that brings further engagement.
- When people engage with our content, follow up with comments or invitations to follow our page (invite function within Facebook).
- Support strategic staff throughout the organization in maximizing their LinkedIn presences.
- Maintain the array of Meta Business Suite, including facilitating permissions and payout details when needed.
Promotion and Visibility (25%)
- Conduct outreach to secure relevant opportunities for Love146's visibility, such as guest appearances on podcasts, conferences, and award nominations. Maintain a teachable and humble approach, being mindful of the anti-trafficking field's complexities.
- Seek and create speaking opportunities for Love146 experts, ensuring alignment with their expertise and interests. Exercise discernment when identifying and fielding public representation opportunities, considering strategic priorities, staff preferences, and capacity.
- Organize, promote, and emcee live chats, webinars, or collaborative posts with staff, partners, influential leaders, all connected to Love146's mission.
- Familiarize yourself with key supporters and peer organizations, along with the organization’s history and context with each. Handle themes that arise with discretion and savviness.
- Promote events to new and existing audiences and, when relevant, maintain an event calendar on Facebook for all events.
- Connect with locally focused influencers (including social and other media format) in regions where we have a lot of work/supporters or ahead of events, specifically looking for accounts that have active followings and curate culture (i.e. those who tell locals what’s happening this weekend).
- As capacity permits, support Love146 staff in preparing for public speaking engagements, including practice sessions, slide preparation, and logistics.
- In collaboration with the Director of Communications, field media incoming interview requests and support the drafting and distribution of periodic press releases & media outreaches.
Team Collaboration (25%)
- Actively participate in weekly staff meetings and team meetings to stay informed about ongoing activities and initiatives.
- Be listening on Slack and in staff meetings for updates that could be used in email newsletters and social media updates. Following up with team members to gather information and approvals.
- Fully draft the text and graphics monthly digest email in Mailchimp, collaborating with the Video and Marketing Manager to send.
- Advise on communications strategy, using data and analytics as available.
- As supporters on social media post, look for opportunities that would provide touchpoints for development staff (i.e. suggest for our CEO a specific timely connection with an influencer)
- Provide support as requested to the Communications team for administrative and marketing related activities.
- Join (and suggest new) content-gathering conversations with staff, helping synthesize what is shared into content for approval.
- Maintain Love146’s Marketing Analytics Dashboard, especially Social Media.
- Help with website updates as needed, including content changes, new posts, and URL redirects.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or comparable work experience in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience with content creation, digital marketing, and media relations.
- Examples of social media and/or similar content creation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Familiarity with nuances related to human trafficking, child exploitation, or human rights is a significant advantage; demonstrated thoughtfulness around social issues and human services.
- Outgoing, people-oriented, networker, conscientious with follow-ups & handling connections with both warmth & professionalism.
- Experience with utilizing Google Analytics & other marketing metrics is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a brand across multiple social media platforms with cohesive and on-brand communications.
- Visual sensibilities and demonstrated ability to make simple tasteful designs using tools like Canva. Ability to create visuals for social media.
- Familiarity with email marketing (Mailchimp a plus) and all major social media platforms.
- Quick and effective turnaround of content.
- Writing skills to publicly communicate programmatic information using Love146’s organizational voice.
- Discretion to quickly understand and adapt to writing in Love146’s communication style.
- Organizational skills to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery of objectives, including keeping all stakeholders on task.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The incumbent must spend long hours sitting, using office equipment and performing computer operations, which requires intense mental and visual concentration and eye hand coordination. The incumbent is located in a busy, open office area with regular interruptions which may cause stress. The incumbent is required to deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.
