LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Stroke / Heart Failure Unit on the night shift . This 42-bed unit specializes in caring for patients with both neurological and cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke . You will be part of a highly skilled team of nurses working in a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing complex neuro-cardiac conditions with precision, compassion, and a focus on best practice standards of care.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in telemetry and stroke care , and have the flexibility to float between units and hospitals as needed. The role involves working closely with cardiologists and neurologists to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with neuro-cardiac conditions such as stroke and heart failure.
• Collaboration: Work alongside cardiologists and neurologists to manage complex conditions and deliver the best outcomes for patients.
• Telemetry Monitoring: Monitor patients on telemetry, ensuring accurate readings and timely interventions when necessary.
• Patient Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay.
• Clinical Expertise: Use evidence-based practices to manage and treat patients with neurological and cardiac conditions.
• Floating: Be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the healthcare system as needed.
• Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Available to work every other weekend and holidays as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications:

• Required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Licensure:

• Required:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Alabama or Compact State (No temporary licenses accepted)
  • NURSYS License Verification

Experience:

• Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a specialty area (telemetry, stroke, or heart failure care).
  • Will consider candidates with 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional licensure.

• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
